Zachary first witnessed fire performers in the summer of 1999 on the Washington Coast, and was so enthralled by the performance that he had to learn to do it himself. Three months later he lit up for the first time. Six months after that, he went to the Burning Man Festival for the first time, where he met many kindred souls. Upon returning home, he joined his first fire performance troop, Ignis Devoco. After many hours of practice he became proficient with the poi, the staff, and the meteor, as well as some items of his own creation. Since then, he has performed with a number of troops, at various festivals, and for many parties. Fire and his interactions with it have come to be a meditative practice, which can be seen in the precision, fluidity and calmness of his motions. Now residing on the Big Island of Hawaii, he hopes to share his gifts with others, in the form of performance, teaching, and constructing of fire tools. Tools: fire Ropes, fire Circle Fans, fire fingers, Meteor, Staff, Fire Fans Naya first started dancing with fire in 2002, while learning how to play with fire, she also was studying Visual Arts learning Sculpture, modern dance, aerial silks, acromatics, contact dance. A year later, Naya was hired as a fire dancer, and a fire sculpture designer for Fire Belly Productions in Vancouver B.C. Through the years, Naya has learned to connect with fire in a way where the body becomes the extension for fire through movement, meditation, and grace. Naya has been hired as a professional fire dancer since 2003 for corporate, private events, festivals, and gatherings. She joined fire groups such as Merkabah, Fire and Ice, Fire Belly Productions, and Samadhi. Naya and Zach met in 2004, firespinning on a beach, and have since been dancing together on fire.
